Canada is dividet into ten provinces and two territories. C. is the second largest country in the world, but most of the territory is very thinly pupulated. The population of C. is nearly 30 million. The most densely populated areas are the Central Provinces.

English is the mother tongue of the majority of canadians, 30 % are French Canadians. English and French are the official langueges of Canada.

The federal capital is Ottawa. The largest towns are: Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary… Canada is rich in natural resources – platinum, gold, silver, coal, iron ore and natural gas. C. is highly developed industrial and agrarian country, agriculture plays a very important role.

The main industries are: wood and paper industries, food industry, engineering, mining.

C. is the largest wheat producer. Winnipeg is the world´s greatest wheat market.

C. is a federation of ten provinces. The Federal Parliament consists of the House of commons and the Senate.

Canada is the British dominion, the executive power is in the hands of the Queen of England, represented by the Governor General. There is from time to time referendum on independence for quebec but separatists are defeated.
